College Loan Corporation will "cease all private loan disbursements effective immediately" said CEO Cary Katz in a letter to financial aid officers, reports the Wall Street Journal. "Regrettably, our financing from a large New York bank was abruptly canceled yesterday."

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo plans to sue Goal Financial for luring student loan borrowers with iPods, cash and other gifts, reports The New York Times. Cuomo also claims that the student loan company misled customers about loan terms and benefits.
